Why the Pain and Evil?

Eight years ago the United States experienced the most devastating attack on our soil possibly since Pearl Harbor, Dec. 7th 1941. I will never forget that morning. I was a junior in high school. It was a Wednesday morning and every Wednesday we would pick up a girl that lived down the st and take her to school with us, and when she got in the car she was louder than normal. She was saying frantically, "planes are crashing into the big buildings in New York!" And I didn''t think to much of it, as there are small tragedies like this on a regular basis. But my mom knew something was going horrible wrong. (yea laugh it up my mom still took me to school my junior year). When we turned on the radio the men were in shock of what was happening. The World Trade Centers had been a striking point for a major terrorist attack. As soon as I arrived at school it was on all the t.v's. They kept playing the video over and over of the plances crashing into the buildings. The rest of the morning we watched the news and prayed for our country. Then the buildings collapsed. The situation went from bad to worse because there were many law enforcement officers (Police and Firefighters) that had rushed into the buildings to save others. Truly a heroic act. And the buildings collapsed. This layered the city with a large cloud of ash. Our country, possibly for the first time since Pearly Harbor was helpless. There was nothing we could do, and there were thousands of people that were unaccounted for.
I will never for get this day as long as I am alive. Tragedies are always bring into the question, "why did God allow this?" And it will always bring out stupid answers that help no one, other than we don't know why this was allowed. All I know is I am waiting for the day where there will be no more pain, evil, or suffering. I believe this day will come soon, and I am looking forward to it, until then I will continue to pray for those who suffer because of the evil in the world. For those who can place their faith in Jesus Christ, there is hope of a future where pain, suffering and all evil will be vanquished. What are you going to choose to believe?

It was a very sad day. So much pain and so much destruction. The result...more war. I will never forget it and pray it never happens again.
